Originally created for the well being of babies but beneficial to the whole family, all Buds products have been certified by Ecocert to ensure they are they are safe for babies, kids and adults alike. (see detailed information about Ecocert below). Their range includes products free from harmful chemicals that are designed for the sensitive skins of our precious babies, gentle and nurturing for Mums and Mums-to-be and safer for us all in the cleanliness of our household.
The Creation of Buds Organics
Buds Organics was created out of a father’s love for his children who suffered from eczema. Remedies for skin conditions such as eczema are often sought in expensive creams yet many of these contain harsh ingredients that may cause undesirable side effects in the longer-term. It was this that led father, KK Soo, to create products using the safest, purest and most effective natural ingredients. As well as possessing personal experience of eczema and sensitive skin, as a Chemical Engineer, KK was also armed with a scientific knowledge of the beneficial power that natural ingredients can harness when it comes to restoring skin to its optimal state.
With this in mind, Buds Organics goes back to basics and takes the best of what nature has to offer. Inspired by ancient remedies, the range features natural ingredients used back in the days when chemicals were not yet invented. These key active ingredients have since been clinically proven effective in the treatment of specific skin conditions.
Why we selected Buds Organics
In our quest to select a brand that met our strict criteria we needed one that not only has fantastic products but has also gone the extra mile when it comes to delivering Viva Tree's customers peace of mind. Buds have gone that extra mile and made sure that all their products undergo regular stringent testing and have been certified by Ecocert, one of the world's most respected international certification bodies for organic materials. Listed below are some of the key areas that led us to select Buds as one of our exclusive brand partners.
Buds Organics is Better for Precious Babies and the Earth
Buds Organics uses the finest organic plant ingredients so that your baby is not exposed to pesticides, herbicides and other potentially harmful chemicals unnecessarily. They also hope to minimize the damage being done to the environment. Opting for organic ingredients equates to less chemicals in our soil, water and air which means more physical labour, which in turn may lead to more jobs. It’s a win-win situation.
Buds Organics Uses Safe and Mild Preservatives
Buds uses only safe and mild preservatives that have met ECOCERT’s strict requirements. These ingredients do not harm your baby and will biodegrade safely in to components that will not harm animals or the environment.
Buds Organics is EU Tested for Their Safety
Buds are dedicated to the safety of their products and that of you and your baby. As such they send their products to the UK for comprehensive safety and preservative tests. Products are only released once they have fulfilled and surpassed these stringent requirements.
Buds Organics is Earth Friendly
Buds plastic is recyclable. They do not box the products, hence minimizing waste. Leaflets are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper which is an earth friendly alternative to recycled paper and best of all, their products – that means every single cream, wash, lotion – is biodegradable. If and when their products enter the waterways, they break down into basic elements like hydrogen and carbon that will not pollute the water or kill fish. Instead, they eventually become used by plants as bio matter.
As animal lovers ourselves, it was important that Buds products are not tested on animals. We were pleased to know that it has never occurred to them to test their products on animals and they only source ingredients from companies that share their philosophy. Instead, their products are tested on willing staff and friends. If it passes muster, then their own children and friends’ children help by letting them know if the products are as good and gentle as they think. Only then do Buds see fit to indulge their pets with a Buds bath because they know that dogs and cats actually have more sensitive skin than our babies and children!

'Organic' alone was not good enough
If you are reading this, we know you care about making informed choices on what you buy and how you live. We do too. Unfortunately, many manufacturers are well aware of this and some have created products that they claim are ‘natural and/or organic’, yet still contain one or more harmful chemicals.
That’s why ‘Organic’ alone was not good enough for Buds. They chose to be certified by ECOCERT because their requirements are extremely demanding and offer transparency and traceability from the farm to the finished product, and even cover what is said on labels.
ECOCERT conducts inspections in over 80 countries, making it one of the largest organic certification organisations in the world. This means that Buds follows strict production standards for sourcing, storage, processing, packaging and shipping. This includes avoiding most synthetic chemical inputs, keeping detailed written production and sales records, maintaining strict physical separation of organic products from non-certified products and undergoing periodic on-site inspections.
ECOCERT requires that 95% of the ingredient used in any product be of natural origin and have extremely strict restrictions on what is allowed in the remaining 5%. Furthermore, for a product to be certified organic, 95% of the plant ingredients must be of certified organic origin AND a minimum of 10% of the total product must be organic.
